Curriculum for Excellence

Curriculum for Excellence aims to achieve a transformation in education in Scotland by providing a coherent, more flexible and enriched curriculum from 3 to 18.

The curriculum includes the totality of experiences which are planned for children and young people through their education, wherever they are being educated.

We aim to plan a broad, progressive education for all of our children which will give them the experiences and the skills to apply their learning throughout their lives. Our children benefit from a full programme of events and educational visits and excursions, and regularly engage in performances of music, dance and drama. We work with our local community to develop children's understanding of their role as citizens and also with our International partner school Colegio Hernandez in Spain to develop children's understanding of their place in the world and the impact they can have. Our children are actively involved in their learning, both in planning and in assessing their next steps. In addition our children have great opportunites to influence their school and their local and international communities through our programme of School Committtees in which every child is involved.
