Glasgow City Council Welcome to Pollokshields Primary School

Activities for Parents

A sewing group (contact Mrs Iqbal via the school office) is on every Thursday morning from 9.30am - projects include making items for sale at school events, and costumes for school plays. Donated cloth etc always needed!

A morning walking group meets on the corner of Albert Drive and Herriet Street every morning immediately after school drop-off - about 1 hour walk in the local area, toddlers and buggies welcome.

Early Years Scotland runs a Stay & Play group for babies and toddlers at the school every Wednesday (term time only) 1.15pm-2.45pm - all welcome to drop-in.

Bookbugs run sessions for babies and toddlers at the school (in the Hive) on Mondays 1.30pm-2.45pm.

A support group for parents whose child has an Autistic Spectrum Disorder diagnosis runs on Friday afternoons.

Additional coffee mornings, English classes and sessions to learn with your child run throughout the year and are advertised on our Facebook space.

Parent (or other family member!) volunteers are always needed to accompany school trips, help with reading, bake and cook for events and generally help out at such events. PVG registration may be needed for some activities - contact the headteacher or Parent Council if you are interested.
